The market for free-agent outfielder Nicholas Castellanos continues to take shape.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are the latest team to be linked to Castellanos, while the slugger also remains tied to the San Francisco Giants, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Though it was reported Sunday that the Chicago Cubs are telling free agents that they need to cut salary before signing anyone, they're still interested in Castellanos as well, Heyman adds.

The Miami Marlins were expected to pursue Castellanos, but Mike Moustakas' four-year, $64-million contract with the Cincinnati Reds reportedly caused the outfielder's price to skyrocket, subsequently leading the Marlins to bow out, according to Jim Bowden of The Athletic.

Castellanos, 27, is coming off one of the best seasons of his career, split between the Detroit Tigers and Cubs. He posted an .863 OPS in 2019. After being traded midseason, he authored a .321/.356/.646 slash line with 16 homers and 21 doubles over 51 games.
