Shin-Soo Choo has worked his way into the Texas Rangers' record books.

With his first-inning single Friday off Cleveland Indians starter Trevor Bauer, Choo extended his consecutive on-base streak to a single-season franchise record 52 games.

The last time Choo failed to reach base was May 12 when he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Houston Astros.

Choo's run is the longest in the majors since Kevin Millar had a 52-game streak in 2007. Ted Williams owns the longest streak in major-league history, reaching base safely in 84 consecutive games during the 1949 season.
