Rallying Royals look to keep magical weekend going
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City brings an unlikely winning streak into a three-game series against the Rays. The Royals won three straight against the White Sox over the weekend, all after trailing by two runs or more entering the seventh inning - a first in franchise history.
Here's what else is happening all around the majors:
AMAZING MAY

Giants RHP Jeff Samardzija (7-2, 2.54) tries to wrap an impressive month while San Francisco opens a four-game series in Atlanta. Samardzija is 4-1 with a 1.41 ERA in five starts this month. He's averaging 7 2/3 innings per outing and has proven effective and efficient since signing a $90 million, five-year deal in the offseason as a free agent.
TWINS SLUGGING

Joe Mauer and Miguel Sano are driving a surprising winning streak for Minnesota. Both players homered in each victory during a three-game sweep against the Mariners over the weekend, and Sano has gone deep in four straight games - all Twins victories.
STARTING STRONG

Rangers INF Jurickson Profar, who had two singles on Sunday, has a hit in all nine of his career starts in the leadoff spot. He is hitting there and playing second base during Rougned Odor's seven-game suspension for punching Toronto's Jose Bautista during a May 15 brawl. The Rangers start a three-game set at Cleveland.
