Canada secured another important victory in its quest to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after beating El Salvador 2-0 on Wednesday.
On the heels of an inspiring victory over the United States, Canada was well-placed to finish the international break on a high against an El Salvador squad that's struggled in qualifying.
However, signs of fatigue among the visitors were evident, as John Herdman's side looked sluggish and struggled to finish a handful of scoring opportunities in the first half.
The CONCACAF leader eventually brought the contest to life with a bizarre goal for the ages.
Atiba Hutchinson broke the deadlock after his initial attempt on goal resulted in a rebound that ricocheted off the post, off a defender, and then off the unsuspecting 38-year-old and into El Salvador's net.

Jonathan David added an insurance goal late with a beautiful chip to help Canada end the international break with a perfect record. Canada was also victorious against Honduras and the United States.
The Canadians now sit on the cusp of qualifying for the men's World Cup for the first time since 1986 after collecting 25 points from 11 qualifying games.
One win from their final three qualifying matches will be enough to send the Canadians to Qatar.
