U.S. defender Geoff Cameron, analyst Alexis Lalas bicker on Twitter
U.S. defender Geoff Cameron got into a minor Twitter spat with ESPN soccer analyst (and former national team member) Alexi Lalas on Sunday centered on Lalas' criticism of Cameron's play.
Lalas and former ESPN co-worker Rob Stone were discussing whether Cameron would start the match had the U.S. advanced to face Argentina in the quarterfinals, with Lalas suggesting Cameron doesn't deserve to see the field ahead of several of his superior teammates.
Then Cameron jumped into the fray with a comeback (and a misspelled "you're"), Lalas fired back and that was it. Certainly not the fiercest flame war of all time, but a notable one nonetheless.
@RobStoneONFOX If you put him at RB then no Yedlin. If you put him at DM then no Beckerman. If you put him at CB then no Gonzalez.
