Tigres attacker Marcelo Flores revealed that he tore the ACL in his right knee during Saturday's CONCACAF Champions Cup final against Toluca.

The 22-year-old winger will miss the World Cup, Canada head coach Jesse Marsch confirmed Sunday, according to Sportsnet's Gene Principe. Marsch, who had named Flores to his final 26-man tournament squad a day before the injury, said he has yet to choose a replacement.

Flores entered Saturday's match in the 62nd minute. He played 15 minutes before suffering a noncontact knee injury while attempting to dribble around Toluca defender Santiago Simon.

The Georgetown, Ontario, native debuted for Canada in a March friendly against Iceland, coming on for the final 27 minutes of a 2-2 draw. He started the side's subsequent fixture against Tunisia before being subbed off after 76 minutes in a scoreless contest.

In February, he chose to represent Canada after suiting up for Mexico at the youth level.

Flores scored three goals in 13 Liga MX Clausura appearances this season.
