Dream's Carter suspended indefinitely
The Atlanta Dream have suspended guard Chennedy Carter indefinitely for detrimental conduct to the team.
Dream interim head coach Mike Petersen effectively benched Carter down the stretch versus the Seattle Storm on Friday. He said the decision was a product of how well her teammates were performing, according to Spencer Nusbaum of The Next.
Carter then played only 5:34 against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.
Chennedy Carter will not return vs. the Aces tonight, but is not hurt, per Atlanta Dream PR.

Carter became aggravated during Sunday's game when a teammate tried to speak with her during a first-quarter timeout, sources told Nusbaum.
The 2020 fourth overall pick has particularly struggled as a long-range scorer this season. After nailing 37.5% of her threes in 2020, she's just 1-of-9 through 11 games.
Overall, Atlanta has sputtered to a 6-11 start.
Minority owner and former Dream player Renee Montgomery addressed the concerns of some fans following the news of Carter's suspension.
"Building a winning culture means holding ourselves accountable as a team," Montgomery tweeted. "As we grow through situations, we will work towards helping our players in all aspects.
"No need to panic, it's part of the grind."
