Chicago Sky forward Rickea Jackson will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, the team announced Tuesday.
Jackson suffered the injury in the team's 86-79 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. She landed awkwardly after bumping into a Lynx defender and left the game with just over five minutes remaining in the first half.
"Rickea was playing at an All-Star and All-Defensive level early in the season. We are certain she was primed for a career year," Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a statement. "Our world-class medical staff will work hard with Rickea, who is one of the toughest players in the league, to get her back on the court."
The Sky acquired Jackson in a trade that sent guard Ariel Atkins to the Los Angeles Sparks. Jackson was averaging 22 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists through three games entering Sunday's contest.
The 25-year-old was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of Tennessee.
