Heung-Min Son could be on the verge of returning from injury during Tottenham's game Thursday against Anderlecht.

The north London club confirmed that Son is "in contention" to feature in the Europa League encounter at White Hart Lane after overcoming a foot injury.

The South Korean international suffered the injury during Tottenham's 4-1 win against Manchester City in September.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is facing the dilemma of the winger's international commitment, as South Korea hopes to have Son for its World Cup qualifiers later this month against Burma/Myanmar and Laos.

"He wants to go, which is normal," Pochettino told reporters. "You want to play for your country but we need to speak a little bit to arrive at the best deal for him, his national team and us. It's a very long way to travel. Now it's a matter for us to speak with him and his national team."

Son's return would be a nice boost for the club after he found the back of the net three times during five appearances in all competitions.
