CSKA Moscow arrived at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday looking to overturn a one-goal deficit from the first-leg defeat to Lyon, and the Russian Premier League side did exactly that.
Aleksandr Golovin, Ahmed Musa, and Pontus Wernbloom all tallied away goals, cancelling out efforts from Maxwel Cornet and Mariano Diaz in a 3-2 victory that advances CSKA to the last-eight stage of a European competition for the first time since 2009-10.
CSKA progresses on the away-goal rule after the two-legged affair was squared at 3-3, and awaits the results of Friday's draw to determine its quarter-final opponent.
