Martial warns United of tough night in Ukraine

Anthony Martial is wary of the sub-zero temperatures and impassioned home support that will give Manchester United an inhospitable welcome to Zorya Luhansk on Thursday, and has urged teammates to approach to tie with the correct mental mindset.

Just a draw will be enough to secure progression into the Europa League's last 32, but Martial wants to take all the spoils in Ukraine to give it the best chance to leapfrog Fenerbahce, which travels to Feyenoord, to the top spot of Group A.

"It is very different - not just the supporters but the weather," Martial told MUTV. "Over there, it's really cold at this time of the season.

"But it's down to us to come to terms with that, adapt to the environment we find ourselves in and get the victory we need."

United comes off the back of Sunday's 1-1 draw just a short drive down the M62 at Everton, but travelling to Zorya in the east corner of Ukraine necessitates a four-hour plane journey inconveniently pinned three days before a tricky visit from Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

"You prepare as well as you can and rest on the plane, but a lot of it can be in your head. It's how you approach things mentally. It's about what happens on the pitch; if you do your stuff out there, that's what counts."

He added: "They'll be in front of their own supporters and will be determined to make life difficult for us to get a result, so we'll be on our guard."
