Napoli completes Leonardo Pavoletti signing from Genoa
Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has further supplemented his attacking options in Campania with the signing of Leonardo Pavoletti from Genoa.
Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis welcomed the striker on Twitter before the Napoli's official announcement Tuesday.
The well-travelled Pavoletti, who began his career with Livorno-based minnow Armando Picchi, has chosen the No. 32 shirt, and sent an Instagram message thanking Genoa after two years with the club:
Pavoletti's modest goal return in the Italian top flight would make it unlikely he'll immediately challenge the in-form Dries Mertens and, when fit, Arkadiusz Milik, but it could result in the departure of the versatile Manolo Gabbiadini. The struggling Atalanta product has attracted interest from England and Germany.
Pavoletti suffered a cruciate ligament injury in November, but the 28-year-old's unveiling at Napoli should mean he passed a medical and is nearing a return to competitive action ahead of Saturday's visit from Sampdoria.
