AC manager Ruben Amorim says Christian Pulisic isn't happy about being an unused substitute in each of the club's opening three matches of the Serie A campaign.
"Pulisic is upset at the moment because he has zero minutes, and I love that," Amorim told reporters, according to ESPN. "I love that in my players. But he's ready to play. Let's not forget he had an injury, then in the first training he had a knock, and he stopped a little bit and returned."
Pulisic hasn't played since suffering a bone bruise and microfracture in his lower leg in the United States' last-16 World Cup loss to Belgium in early July. The 27-year-old tallied eight goals and four assists in 30 league appearances for the Rossoneri last season, with 18 of those coming as a starter.
Milan visit Lazio on Saturday at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, and Amorim indicated that Pulisic could play a part.
"I think you guys are going to see Pulisic; I don't know if he is going to start or he's going to get on the pitch (from the bench)," Amorim said. "I think he's going to play at least a few minutes now, and I like Pulisic."
Amorim, who replaced Massimiliano Allegri in the summer, also emphasized that no player in his squad is guaranteed a starting XI spot, regardless of stature.
"It doesn't matter if you are a top player, I don't take (out) all the other guys who are doing well to put in any player in the world," Amorim said. "That is my way of living, and this is the way I'm going to die or finish my career."
Amorim added: "Pulisic is really important for us. After the (international break), we'll have eight weeks with three games per week. I think they are going to be tired of playing, so there'll be time for everyone."
Milan sit fifth in the table with two victories and a draw ahead of Saturday. The fabled Italian side kick off their Europa League campaign next Wednesday when they welcome Portuguese giants Benfica to the San Siro.
