Justin Thomas and Phil Mickelson were just two of the many players who didn't survive the nasty weather at Royal Birkdale on Friday, missing the 36-hole cut at The Open.
Thomas' tournament essentially ended at the par-4 sixth on Day 2, where he threw a quintuple-bogey 9 on the scorecard, and made the turn in 43. The inward nine was only mildly better for the 24-year-old, and would post a second-round 80 - 13 more than Thursday.
Mickelson made his first birdie of the week at the par-4 first on Friday, but it was all downhill from there. The 2013 Open champion made a triple-bogey 7 at the third en route to a 7-over-par 77, finishing at 10-over for the tournament.
