The Detroit Red Wings have placed oft-scratched forward Joakim Andersson on waivers.
The bottom-six contributor is actually expected to be in Detroit's lineup for Friday's game against the Buffalo Sabres, but will likely be sent to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League should he clear on Saturday.
Andersson, an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, has a goal and three points in 25 games this season.
