Here are theScore's winger value rankings for Saturday, January 16. Note that these rankings exclude the three games starting prior to 7 p.m. EST.

Value Rankings
C | W | D | G

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Johnny Gaudreau (CGY) at EDM 9
Patrick Sharp (DAL) at SJ 9
Zach Parise (MIN) at NAS 7
Alex Ovechkin (WAS) at BUF 7

Gaudreau has seven goals in his past ten and a stellar matchup against the dismal Edmonton defense. His price tag sits well below some of the other top options thus making him a high value play.

Ovechkin has zero assists, but nine goals in his last ten. His sky-high price tag reduces his value but his scoring ability cannot be doubted. Roster him if you are willing to go dumpster diving at other positions.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
P.A. Parenteau (TOR) at BOS 6
Vladimir Tarasenko (STL) vs. MON 6
Gabriel Landeskog (COL) at CLB 6
Jamie Benn (DAL) at SJ 6
Max Pacioretty (MON) at STL 6
Ryan O'Reilly (BUF) vs. WAS 5
Loui Eriksson (BOS) vs. TOR 5

Parenteau is seeing heavy minutes for a player of his reduced salary. His current opportunity and cheap price tag will make him a value play for the foreseeable future.

Stars like Tarasenko, Benn and Pacioretty all fall. None of these three have been keeping up with their early season play of late.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Jordan Eberle (EDM) vs. CGY 4
Brendan Gallagher (MON) at STL 4
Taylor Hall (EDM) vs. CGY 4
Brandon Saad (CLB) vs. COL 3

Despite a matchup against Calgary, Hall has only managed two points in his last ten. Fade him until he shows signs of life.
