The Detroit Red Wings have confirmed defenseman Jakub Kindl cleared waivers Sunday.
Kindl can now be assigned to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins, which would allow the Red Wings to activate Kyle Quincey from injured reserve.
A healthy scratch for the past four games, Kindl has two goals and three assists in 23 contests.
The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his contract with an average cap hit of $2.4 million.
