Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie leveled Pittsburgh Penguins winger Beau Bennett with a thunderous hit Monday night.
Bennett's stick went flying after Oshie took him out near the boards late in the first period.
Bennett went straight to the dressing room. He wasn't on the ice nor the bench for the start of the second period, and wasn't able to return to the game.
"I don't have specifics," Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said after the game. "It's my understanding that we're going to lose him for a little while. I will know more soon."
The 24-year-old had four points in his last five games entering the contest.
