The Vancouver Giants want to make a splash.
The franchise reportedly interviewed former Buffalo Sabres bench boss Ted Nolan for their head coaching position in May, and they've apparently been looking at former Edmonton Oilers coach Dallas Eakins as well.
Eakins interviewed with the club two weeks ago and has "strong interest in the job," News1130 Sports reported Monday.
If Eakins were to get the job, he'd move into junior hockey for the first time in his career. He previously coached as an assistant with the Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as serving as the head coach of the AHL's Toronto Marlies and NHL's Oilers.
The 48-year-old earned a record of 36-63-14 across 113 games with Edmonton before his dismissal on Dec. 15, 2014.
