If the Boston Bruins looked a touch preoccupied in eking out a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, it's because they were.
The Bruins couldn't help but notice the Ottawa Senators build a 3-0 lead early, and eventually hold on for victory in their game versus the Washington Capitals.
"It seemed like everybody was looking at the scoreboard," Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask told reporters. "Then it makes us even tighter, you know? That's what it looked like again today, so I tried to keep myself calm.”
Rask might have noticed a difference in his team's play, but the Bruins most certainly deserved the two points secured in the shootout. Boston finished with 79 shots directed toward James Reimer to just 43 against.
With the Bruins and Senators having both earned two points, the latter remains three points back with four games left, including one in hand.
