Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown ignited rivalry night against the Anaheim Ducks with a massive open-ice hit on Corey Perry in the first period.
Brown spotted Perry skating through the neutral zone with his head down and cut across the ice to line up Anaheim's leading goal-scorer. Brown avoided contact with Perry's head for a clean but crushing hit.

The hit attracted a crowd as the Ducks looked for retribution on Brown. Anaheim defensemen Clayton Stoner and Simon Despres recevied minor penalties in the ensuing scrum, while Brown was called for roughing, allowing Los Angeles to take the lead on a power play.
