Sabres to can the 'Turdburger' alternate jersey

In a season where the only saving grace has been the potential first overall pick in this year's entry draft, the Buffalo Sabres got some good news Thursday.

Team president Ted Black announced on WGR Radio that the Sabres will not don their ugly third jersey after this season. The gold, blue and grey head-scratcher of a jersey has been widely criticized since its inception.

Black had originally praised the jersey, but looks to have sided with fans and others alike. "If it's a turd burger I'll have to put it on a bun and eat it," Black said.

Black says the Sabres won't have a third jersey next season, and thoughts are that they may go without one until 2020 when the team celebrates their 50th anniversary.
