Blue Jackets shut down Skille for season due to shoulder surgery

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jack Skille will miss the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury that requires surgery.
The Blue Jackets placed Skille on injured reserve Wednesday. His surgery is scheduled for next week.
Skille appeared in 45 games for Columbus after being claimed off waivers at the start of the season. He had six goals and two assists, while also contributing 24 points in 22 games with the franchise's AHL affiliate.
The 27-year-old has 61 points in 239 career NHL games.
