Giguere, 37, made 22 appearances for the Colorado Avalanche last season, posting a save percentage of .913. He made $1.5 million on a one-year deal with Colorado and became an unrestricted free agent when the Avalanche elected not to re-sign him in the offseason, leading to speculation he would retire.
Giguere won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the 2003 Stanley Cup Final and won the Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007.
