Nylander apologizes for flipping bird at camera during loss to Avs
Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander apologized for making an obscene gesture during Sunday's home loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Nylander, currently sidelined with a groin injury, appeared on the broadcast in the press box and was seen pointing his middle finger at a camera.
"Only love for Leafs nation," Nylander posted on Instagram following the 4-1 loss. "Sorry about the moment of frustration today! Didn't mean to upset anyone. Looking forward to being back on the ice and not in the stands. Love Willy."

The NHL is investigating the incident, and Nylander could face punishment for the gesture, according to The Athletic's Chris Johnston.
Nylander has missed the last five games due to injury. The Maple Leafs have struggled in his absence, posting a 1-4 record and dropping four straight contests.
The 29-year-old has recorded 17 goals and a team-high 47 points in 37 games this season - his 11th campaign with the Maple Leafs.
