The Boston Bruins have cast a wide net in their coaching search.

The club interviewed Luke Richardson, Jay Woodcroft, Marco Sturm, Mitch Love, Jay Leach, and Joe Sacco for the vacancy, among others, reports TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

Sacco was Boston's interim bench boss for 62 games last season following Jim Montgomery's dismissal. The Bruins went 25-30-7 during Sacco's tenure.

Richardson served as head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks for parts of three seasons before they fired him 26 games into 2024-25. A 1,417-game NHL veteran during his playing career, he put together a 57-118-15 record behind the bench in Chicago.

Woodcroft was Edmonton Oilers head coach for parts of three campaigns before he was fired 13 games into 2023-24. He led the Oilers to a 2022 Western Conference Final appearance, and his .643 points percentage is eighth-best all time among coaches with at least 100 games.

Sturm played five seasons with the Bruins during his 14-year career. Since retiring, he's served as the head coach of the German national team, an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Kings, and most recently as head coach of the AHL's Ontario Reign.

Love has been an assistant coach for the Washington Capitals the last two seasons. He won back-to-back AHL coach of the year awards in 2022 and 2023.

Leach was an assistant coach on Montgomery's and Sacco's staff in Boston last season. He was previously an assistant coach with the Seattle Kraken and head coach of the AHL's Providence Bruins.

The Bruins are expected to conduct final interviews next week before making a decision, LeBrun reports.
