The New York Rangers and defenseman Ryan Lindgren steered clear of the arbitration process by settling on a one-year contract, the club announced Tuesday.

The pact is worth $4.5 million, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. It will walk Lindgren to unrestricted free agency in 2025. He was a restricted free agent.

Lindgren has served a steadying defensive presence alongside Adam Fox for the last five seasons. He tallied 17 points in 76 games in 2023-24 while averaging 19:21 per contest.

The Rangers acquired Lindgren in the 2018 trade that sent Rick Nash to the Boston Bruins.

New York has just $623,000 in cap space remaining with all of its RFAs signed.
