Capuano tabbed as Team USA's head coach for World Championship
Ottawa Senators associate coach Jack Capuano will serve as the head coach for Team USA at the 2021 World Championship, the program announced Monday.
Providence College's Nate Leaman and the U.S. National Team Development Program's Adam Nightingale will serve as his assistant coaches. Kevin Reiter - who also works for the USNTDP - will serve as the goaltending coach while Senators video coach Mike King will reprise the same role on Capuano's staff.
Capuano served as the New York Islanders' head coach for parts of seven seasons from 2010-2017. He's represented the U.S. on the international stage several times, including as an assistant coach at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and the 2017 World Championship.
The 2021 World Championship will take place in Riga, Latvia from May 21 to June 6.
