The Dallas Cowboys released running back Christine Michael on Tuesday.

A 2012 second-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks, Michael developed a quasi cult-like following in fantasy football circles, with predictions of his supposedly imminent breakout reverberating on social media until they became parodies of themselves.

The Cowboys traded for Michael in early September, but he failed to make much of an impact. In five games, he carried the ball 15 times for 51 yards.

The Cowboys also released cornerback Corey White.
