Obama compares his governing style to '(Aaron) Rodgers in the pocket'
President Barack Obama has compared himself to the reigning NFL MVP.
A noted Chicago Bears fan, Obama conjured Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' name as a comparison for himself when quizzed about feeling overwhelmed by the duties of the presidency, in an interview with Bill Simmons for GQ.
"So you're like (San Antonio Spurs coach) Gregg Popovich. Although he does get mad at sideline reporters," Simmons suggested.
"So do I," Obama responded. "Yeah. Or maybe Rodgers in the pocket, in the sense of you can't be distracted by what's around you, you've got to be looking downfield. And I think that’s a quality that I have - not getting flustered in what's around me."
Rodgers is struggling through his worst season in a while, but he's still considered by many to be the best quarterback in football.
And now he can add this to his resume. Not too shabby.
