NFL security is investigating an incident that allegedly involved Pittsburgh Steelers tight ends coach James Daniel assaulting a New England Patriots fan on the way to the locker room during halftime of Thursday night's season opener.
Daniel was allegedly spotted kicking a Patriots fan in the leg and verbally accosting the victim, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Police were called and approached Daniel as he returned to the sideline after halftime, at which time witnesses say he started shouting at an officer.
Both the Steelers and the league will reportedly conduct investigations into the incident.
