New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith took another step forward in his recovery Monday, participating in positional drills for the first time since he was punched by former teammate IK Enemkpali during a locker-room altercation.
Smith declined to discuss the incident with reporters, but said he won't be pressing charges against Enemkpali. He also referred to "the investigation," suggesting the NFL is looking into the altercation.
Asked about Jets fans being thrown for a loop after the incident, Smith replied, "Imagine how I felt."
Smith added: "There's obviously a lesson learned in every situation ... Good or bad."
