Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte fired back at former teammate Brandon Marshall following the latter's criticism of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.
Marshall said earlier this month that he "felt like I was the only one in the organization that had the (guts) to hold (Cutler) accountable."
"I don't think that was the case where everyone was held accountable. I don't see how he can say that," Forte said Wednesday on "The Rich Eisen Show."
"Sometimes Brandon didn't hold himself accountable."
Forte suggested Marshall's weekly trips to New York City to appear on Showtime's "Inside the NFL" were an issue for some of the Bears.
"I didn't have an issue with it as long as he got back in time, or took care of his body and came to play every Sunday," Forte said. "I guess a lot of people had issue with that and thought his mind wasn't on football first."
Marshall was traded to the New York Jets earlier this offseason.
