Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is unlikely to play in Sunday night's matchup against the Denver Broncos due to a hip injury, head coach Sean McVay said Friday, according to ESPN's Ian Rapoport.
Slated to miss his second straight game, Nacua could return next week against the Philadelphia Eagles if he doesn't have a setback, McVay added, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The star wideout missed the Rams' Week 2 win over the New York Giants, leading to a standout performance by wide receiver Davante Adams, who caught eight passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Adams is expected to be Matthew Stafford's go-to target again with Nacua sidelined.
Nacua hasn't practiced since the Thursday leading up to the Week 2 game against the Giants.
The 25-year-old was the Rams' leading receiver in the season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers, catching five passes for 74 yards.
