Searcy will enter the season as the clear-cut starter at strong safety, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said the fourth-year player, who will line up across from free safety Aaron Williams, "I'm out there with the starting unit now so I just want to go out there and compete. I don't want myself to be a weak link out there with those proven guys. The more opportunities I'm out there, the more opportunities I have to make plays and help the team win."

Analysis:

Searcy finished his 2013 season with 71 tackles, seven passes defensed, an interception, and two touchdowns, pretty strong numbers for someone who played a modest 63.7 percent of the defensive snaps. With good health, Searcy will certainly see more time than that in 2014, putting him on the IDP radar.
