Michael Sam made one final push for a spot on the St. Louis Rams' 53-man roster on Thursday night, recording a team-high six tackles in a 14-13 preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins.
The performance capped off what was a solid preseason for the rookie defensive end, who had 11 tackles and three sacks in four games.
He will know by Saturday's 4 p.m. EDT deadline whether it was enough to secure him a spot on the final roster.
"I'm very confident I'll be playing on [an] NFL roster this fall," Sam said after the game. "I know I can play in this league."
Rams head coach Jeff Fisher agrees.
