After watching teammate Richard Sherman ink a very lucrative extension on Thursday, Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin is hoping more of Seattle's money will be spent on the offensive side of the ball.
Seattle placed a second-round tender on Baldwin - what was a successful attempt to quell teams from making an offer on him - in March and remain focused on signing him to a long-term deal.
As the Seahawks gear up for the NFL draft beginning on Thursday, the 25-year-old said he's confident that the two sides will work out a deal.
“I will say things are going in the right direction,” Baldwin said during a live chat via the Seattle Times. “I don’t know how much time it’s going to take. They’ve got the draft to deal with. So we are in preliminary talks. But hopefully we will figure something out soon.”
