Standout receiver DK Metcalf revealed that quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn't the only conspiracy theorist on the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster.
The 28-year-old Metcalf recently told The Athletic's Jonathan Jones that he believes Antarctica is "another world."
"I think there is another civilization inside of Earth," he explained.
"Yeah, I'm a big conspiracy theorist," Metcalf added. "Shout out to my quarterback."
The two-time Pro Bowler's theory is based on the limited access to the frigid continent.
"You can go to Alaska. You could go to the North Pole," Metcalf said. "But why not Antarctica? Why can't you just book a trip to Antarctica?"
In actuality, trips can be booked to Antarctica. Tourism usually takes place from November to March, typically with ships leaving from South America and traveling to the Antarctic Peninsula. There are no commercial airports on the continent, however, and the few airports that exist are controlled by international governments for noncommercial flights.
Metcalf asked, "Why is there a secret meeting - well, it's not secret - but why is there a meeting between every world leader of every country in Antarctica, specifically?"
There's no verifiable evidence to support the pass-catcher's claims of such meetings taking place.
Metcalf also made it clear that Rodgers did not fuel his theories about Antarctica, saying, "It just so happened that we can bond over it."
The veteran wideout is set to lead a revamped Steelers receiving corps that features Michael Pittman Jr., Germie Bernard, and Roman Wilson. Pittsburgh will open its regular season against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
