New York Jets running back Breece Hall strained his groin during training camp practice on Monday, head coach Aaron Glenn announced.
"I don't think it was a big deal, but I want to make sure I get the evaluation on that," Glenn said after practice.
Hall suffered the injury after catching a swing pass, suddenly pulling up and then falling to the ground, according to the New York Post's Brian Costello. Medical staff attended to him, with trainers focusing on his right thigh.
The 25-year-old walked slowly off the practice field with trainers, Costello added.
Hall has been a key contributor to the Jets' offense since being drafted in the second round in 2022. He's posted at least 1,350 scrimmage yards in each of the last three seasons, including 1,415 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns for New York's struggling offense last campaign.
The Jets rewarded Hall with a three-year, $43.5-million contract extension in May. His $14.5 million average annual salary makes him the eighth highest-paid tailback in the league, according to Over the Cap.
Shortly after signing his new deal, Hall was optimistic that his fifth season could be his best yet.
"God willing, we stay healthy, and everything goes as planned, I feel like this could be my best season, for sure," Hall said in May.
Running backs Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis, and Kene Nwangwu will likely see more reps with the first-team offense if Hall misses time.
