The Houston Texans have agreed to terms with tight end Dalton Schultz on a one-year, $12.6-million extension, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Schultz was previously only under contract through the 2026 season. He'll now take in $17.6 million guaranteed over 2026 and 2027, Rapoport adds.

The 29-year-old recorded a career-high 82 receptions last season, with no other Texans pass-catcher surpassing that total. His 777 receiving yards were the second most of his career, trailing only the 808 yards he recorded in 2021 as a member of the Dallas Cowboys.

Houston has been active ahead of the start of free agency next week. The franchise released running back Joe Mixon earlier Friday and re-signed pass-rusher Danielle Hunter on Thursday.
