The Miami Dolphins are releasing eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Moving on from Hill will save the Dolphins $22.8 million against the salary cap, Schefter adds.

Hill, who turns 32 on March 1, is recovering from a serious knee injury that included a torn ACL. The star wideout's timeline to return to the field isn't clear.

Once the Dolphins announce his release, he will immediately become a free agent and can sign with a new team.

Hill's tenure in Miami started brilliantly with back-to-back seasons of over 1,700 yards. His 1,799 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 2023 led the NFL. However, as the Dolphins' offense sputtered, so did Hill's production. He recorded only 959 yards in 2024, though he battled a wrist injury throughout the campaign.

Hill had 265 yards and one touchdown through four games last season before sustaining a gruesome knee injury in Week 4.

The Dolphins are in the midst of cleaning out their roster. The franchise also reportedly released veteran edge rusher Bradley Chubb, offensive lineman James Daniels, and wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on Monday.

Deciding on the future of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is likely next on the Dolphins' agenda. The former top-five pick was benched late last season and said earlier in 2026 that he would be open to a change of scenery.
