Walker becomes 1st RB to win Super Bowl MVP since 1998
Running back Kenneth Walker III was named MVP of Super Bowl LX after leading the Seattle Seahawks to a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots.
Walker racked up 161 scrimmage yards in the victory, the most by a tailback since Terrell Davis' 165 yards in Super Bowl XXXII. Davis was also the last halfback to take home MVP honors before Walker.
The 25-year-old ran for 135 yards, tying Thurman Thomas for the eighth-most rushing yards in a Super Bowl. Walker also joined Thomas and Emmitt Smith as the only players to rush for more than 125 yards and haul in 25 receiving yards, according to NFL Media's John Todd.
Walker broke off runs of 29 and 30 yards to help set up the Seahawks second field goal. He also recorded the second-most rushing yards in the opening half with 94 yards on 14 carries.
The Michigan State product finished just five yards shy of breaking Marshawn Lynch's postseason franchise record, totaling 313 rushing yards in the playoffs, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner.
