Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is officially active for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals despite a left shoulder injury, the team announced.
The two-time Pro Bowler exited the Buccaneers' loss to the Los Angeles Rams last week after suffering a low-grade AC joint sprain, per ESPN's Jenna Laine. There was concern afterward that Mayfield would be sidelined for an extended period. However, an MRI revealed there was no structural damage in Mayfield's non-throwing shoulder.
Mayfield was listed as questionable on the Buccaneers' final injury report Friday. He was a full participant in the team's final practice after being a limited participant Thursday.
"He looked good today so he's trending to play," head coach Todd Bowles said Friday, per team reporter Scott Smith.
Mayfield will extend a starting streak that dates back to the 2023 season opener. Teddy Bridgewater would've received his first start of the season if Mayfield was unavailable Sunday.
Running back Bucky Irving is also active for the first time since Sept. 28 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Buccaneers will attempt to snap a three-game losing skid.
