Report: Bengals' Burrow eyeing return on Thanksgiving vs. Ravens
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is eyeing a return on Thanksgiving night against the Baltimore Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
However, it's more likely his first game back will be versus the Buffalo Bills the following week, Rapoport adds.
The star signal-caller's 21-day practice window was opened on Nov. 10, and he was listed as a limited participant in all three sessions this week. However, he only participated in seven-on-seven drills, and he has not yet been medically cleared for a full practice workload. Burrow underwent surgery in mid-September to repair a Grade 3 turf toe injury and has only played in two contests this year.
Whenever Burrow does return to game action, he'll likely do so with a metal plate in his shoe and without full mobility, sources told Rapoport. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor will reportedly have to adjust the team's playbook to accommodate Burrow's limited mobility.
Cincinnati is 3-6 heading into its Week 11 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Joe Flacco, whom the Bengals acquired on Oct. 7 after benching backup quarterback Jake Browning, will start his fifth consecutive game on Sunday.
Flacco has gone 1-3 in four contests with Cincinnati, throwing for 1,254 yards with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions this year. The veteran quarterback is dealing with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder that has forced him to miss multiple practices over the last two weeks.
