Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey will begin training camp on the PUP list due to a knee injury suffered in minicamp, general manager Omar Khan said Tuesday, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
Khan added that Ramsey will miss a couple weeks of training camp, though his ailment didn't require surgery. The executive also anticipates the veteran being ready for the season.
The 31-year-old is entering his second campaign with the Steelers and is expected to be a key piece of their veteran defense. Ramsey recorded one interception, eight pass breakups, and three sacks last season as he balanced playing cornerback and safety.
Meanwhile, offensive tackle Broderick Jones has been cleared to practice, according to Pryor. He underwent surgery after sustaining a season-ending neck injury last year, initially leaving his status for training camp uncertain.
Jones, a first-round pick in 2023, has failed to live up to expectations in Pittsburgh. He's entering the final season of his rookie deal after the team declined his fifth-year option.
Entering its first season under new head coach Mike McCarthy, Pittsburgh is hoping to build on last year's AFC North title and end its run of one-and-done postseason trips.
