Lamar ruled out vs. Texans due to hamstring injury
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans due to a hamstring injury, the team announced Friday.
Jackson suffered the injury in last week's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, exiting in the third quarter and not returning. Jackson hasn't practiced this week.
Sunday's game will be the first contest the two-time MVP has missed due to injury since a sprained PCL sidelined him for the final six matchups of the 2022 campaign.
Jackson's recovery timeline remains unclear. The Ravens face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6 and then have a bye in Week 7.
Cooper Rush, who replaced the injured Jackson in Week 4, is slated to get the start, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. Rush has gone 9-5 in 14 starts during his eight-year NFL career, all with the Dallas Cowboys.
The 31-year-old threw for 1,844 yards with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions in 2024. Rush started eight games last season after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in early November. He signed a two-year deal worth up to $12.2 million with Baltimore in March.
