Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter was fined $57,222 for spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The NFL also suspended Carter for one game but considers him to have served the ban since he was ejected before the first play of scrimmage in Thursday's win over the Cowboys. Prescott spat on the ground toward the Eagles' defensive huddle before Carter confronted the Dallas passer.

"After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the (Kansas City) Chiefs game," Rosenhaus said.

The Eagles visit the Chiefs in a highly anticipated Super Bowl rematch Sunday. Led by Carter, Philadelphia's defense dominated Kansas City in February to help Philly claim a 40-22 victory for its second Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Carter - a top-10 pick in 2023 - is already one of the NFL's premier defensive linemen. The Georgia product earned a second-team All-Pro nod last year.
