Report: Allen visiting Chargers with mutual interest in reunion
Veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen is visiting the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, sources told Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
There's reportedly mutual interest in a potential reunion.
Allen, 33, spent the 2024 season with the Chicago Bears but played his first 11 NFL campaigns for the Chargers. He ranks second in franchise history with 10,530 career receiving yards and 904 catches. The six-time Pro Bowler is only 51 receptions shy of Antonio Gates for the most in team history.
An elite route-runner in his prime, Allen has six 1,000-yard seasons under his belt. The 2013 third-round pick made 108 catches for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns with L.A. during the 2023 season before being traded to the Bears.
Allen caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven TDs across 15 games in Chicago.
Adding to the wide receivers room has been a priority for the Chargers this year. Jim Harbaugh's outfit used a second-round pick on Tre Harris and reunited with Allen's longtime teammate Mike Williams in March. However, Williams recently announced his retirement.
Los Angeles' group of wideouts is currently headlined by Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.
