Dallas Cowboys star pass-rusher Micah Parsons is expected to attend training camp despite not securing a long-term contract extension, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Nick Harris.

Parsons is entering the final year of his rookie contract after the Cowboys picked up his fifth-year option. He's been with Dallas since the team drafted him in the first round in 2021.

The Penn State product has been in active negotiations with the Cowboys on a new contract over the last two years. He recently criticized owner Jerry Jones for the lack of urgency in reaching a deal.

"We obviously wanted to get it done early. We want that relief. ... But, obviously, ownership is always gonna make it drag out, make it more complicated than it has to be," Parsons said at the time.

Parsons attended mandatory minicamp this spring. Other elite edge rushers, like T.J. Watt and Trey Hendrickson, decided to hold out of their teams' sessions due to contract disputes. Watt, 30, ultimately signed a three-year extension earlier this week that made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.

Parsons has led the Cowboys in sacks in each of the last four seasons. The 26-year-old has earned two first-time All-Pro nominations during his NFL run.
