Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is day-to-day with a contusion on the left side of his chest, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco.

Pederson added that an MRI didn't reveal anything more severe and that Thomas could still play against the Philadelphia Eagles this coming Sunday.

Before Pederson's Monday press conference, Thomas said he hoped to be back on the practice field by the end of the week.

The first-round pick has been a gigantic part of the Jaguars' offense - his 573 receiving yards rank seventh-most in the NFL.

Jacksonville's receiving corps already suffered a blow in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers: Christian Kirk will miss the remainder of the season due to a broken collarbone.
